The information which you now have access to stands a chance of destabilising your equilibrium. There are many roads which you could now take. But, there is one road that is the right one. And what you want to avoid above all else is to be pulled in so many directions at once that the guiding voice of intuition has but a scant chance of planting a fertile seed in your mind. Know that you have the strength to deal with this moment. And if you do not yet know what to do, do nothing. From stillness comes receptivity. On the heels of the recent eclipse portal, powerful progress is now available.

You travel much more lightly when you are free of the baggage connected with a false persona. There is none other than who you are. To try to be your neighbour, your boss, the guy down the street with the shiny Mercedes or BMW; all of this is futile. It will only leave you with a headache and heartache from living a life that was not meant for you, if it were even possible for you to live this way, which it isn’t. So, what’s wrong with your life as it is right now? Nothing, regardless of how many challenges you may be facing. And it will only get better the moment you recognise…

Art by Kathleen Farago I’m finishing up the Planetary Illuminations report, but I wanted to give you a heads up on this important cycle. You can read in the sidebar about the square aspect between Uranus and Pluto that has been creating intensity, drama and change since the two planets first came together back in 2011 (their first meeting was just a degree from exactitude, but close enough to pack a punch).  The sixth exact square is in mid-December, but during November they will be moving closer and closer to the exact alignment that will likely foster even more breakdown (Pluto) and…

Mars has entered Capricorn, and overall that’s good news. Sure, Mars in Capricorn doesn’t have the same devil-may-care roguish charm that Mars in Sagittarius had, and it may not have that adventurous “let’s try something new” flare that it will have in Aquarius. However, Capricorn is the Sign in which Mars is exalted, and thus (in theory) that is where Mars does its best work. Mars rules the sex drive, and if “let’s do this on time and under budget” doesn’t sound particularly exciting to you, there is always the thrill of Venus in Scorpio…

  • The Servant Who Wants More: Understanding Your Virgo Partner

    Nadia Gilchrist
    29 Oct 2014 | 2:00 am
Credit: sjenner13 via iStockphoto Virgo has a rep of being a dutiful partner: the servant who does your laundry, organizes your files, and makes sure all your needs are met. Need help? Turn to your Virgo, because that’s what he does. While there’s some truth to this, the reality is far more complex. After months or even years of being there for you, it can come as a shock when your humble Virgo lover walks out the door. Virgo is the sign of service and perfection. He shows his love by helping you with practicalities. As he gets to know you, he’ll anticipate your needs.

At first glance, dreamy Pisces and practical Taurus may not seem like a good match. But Sun in Pisces will benefit from Taurus’ calm nurturing, while Moon in Taurus will benefit from Pisces’ openness to new experiences. Both of these signs require large doses of tranquillity, which they’ll certainly be able to share with each other. Sun in Pisces is a sensitive soul. His boundaries are a bit more permeable than others signs, so he absorbs the energies of those around him. This makes him an empathetic lover, but if his partner is in a negative place, he can easily get sucked…

This week, I take things a step further and examine the rules for electing a time to get married. Just as the birth time of a relationship can impact its development, the timing of a wedding can impact the progression of a marriage. The relationship has already begun, but the transition to “official commitment” is considered to be a new stage of the partnership. Note that this does not apply to common law marriages. Soon, Saturn in Sagittarius will square Neptune in Pisces.  The entire collective will be dealing with a reality that’s constantly morphing. Your self esteem or confidence is here… then gone. People with planets at the early degrees of the mutable signs are already affected by this. I wrote this for a client, yesterday: “…Let’s say you’re a model, a pro. Some days you feel great. The full moon in Taurus takes place on November 6th.  This is a big one. The Moon opposes the Sun and Venus in Scorpio, which puts the focus on relationships. Jupiter in Leo squares all three body, enlarging the effect. I used the word “commitment” in the title of this, because Saturn in loosely involved, but at a later degree.      Chart with Small Talent triangle, Streamer figure, Large Learning triangleAspect Patterns, as used in Astrological Psychology and the Huber Method, are pretty much the most revealing thing to consider in a chart when it comes to wanting to understand how people tick. There are 40+ recognisable aspect patterns, all of which relate to observable behaviour in others, and behaviour traits we can recognise in ourselves.I've written about all of them in my book, Aspect Patterns in Colour, and each aspect pattern is discussed in the context of an example chart, mostly of a well-known person.

The planet Neptune in astro-meteorology is considered the pluvial planet par excellence. Under Neptune's signature the temperature rises and humidity increases. When Neptune occupies important positions in key charts, such positions portend downfall in excess of the seasonal average. For these reasons, it is worthwhile to turn our attention to the abovementioned period. Neptune, at this time, achieves its direct station meaning that from our position on Earth, Neptune appears to move forward in the heavens after over 5 months of retrograde motion. One of the areas that will be affected by this…

  • Ghosts in a Brooklyn Bar

    TheStarryEye Astrologer
    28 Oct 2014 | 7:49 am
The New York TImes has reported that a bar in Brooklyn is currently the scene of some ghost sightings - right in time for Halloween. But I believe in spirits so I am happy to post their article on all of the ghostly antics -   In a dark morning in September 2006, Miguel Vargas arrived for work at a Brooklyn restaurant called Sweetwater. He unlocked and lifted the security gate, took two steps inside and saw a woman in profile walking across the dining room toward a basement stairwell. She was middle-aged with gray hair and dressed in white, like a wedding dress, he said, but not one…

Remember the good old days when astrologers had some power at the White House? That era is gone with the passing of Joan Quigley who advised Nanacy Reagan who, in turn, advised President Ronald Reagan. And there are many who recall the Reagan administration with great fondness. Maybe, just maybe, using astrology to improve the timing of things during his tenure helped create his enduring success. Here is Joan's obit from the New York Times:   In his 1988 memoir, For The Record , Donald T. Regan, a former chief of staff for President Ronald Reagan, revealed what he called the…

ooooh it's an interesting eclipse!... in Scorpio it's all about the point of no return... where in your life are facing a point of no return? The point of no return isn't the end of the story with Scorpio though, it means you're also renewing, rebirthing, and rising from the ashes restored and ready to roar. This eclipse is such an unusual planet set-up too. It doesn't happen often! What's happening is the sun starts its yearly journey through the sign of Scorpio and almost immediately its joined by the moon, which means it's a new moon at the beginning of the sun's journey - this doubles up…

    Demystifying the Aquarian Age

  • Ebola, AIDS & the Black Death

    Terry MacKinnell
    14 Oct 2014 | 10:37 pm
The recent flare up of Ebola in West Africa is obviously a cause of concern based purely on the media attention given to it, especially in cases that are appearing in Western nations.  The general public is already feeling highly vulnerable with the ISIS threat in Syria and Iraq and with firm memories of the recent GFC.  Astrology can provide insights into many situations, like a relatively accurate ‘weather report’. In this case, I am using the Ebola epidemic to demonstrate the efficacy of macro-astrology.[1]  Can the 2014 Ebola epidemic be linked to any of the sub-periods of the…

The purpose of this Demystifying the Aquarian Age blog is to present the truth of the astrological ages, including the Age of Aquarius, to the general public and interested astrologers alike. I therefore try to keep the technical aspects associated with the astrological ages to a minimum.  However I have another WordPress blog with a different focus.  The At the Cutting Edge of the Aquarian Age blog is focussed upon the smallest divisions of the astrological ages and how these small divisions correlate to events as they unfold in the world.  For example, the world is moving into the…

    Terry MacKinnell
    26 Feb 2014 | 4:56 pm
Based on an article by Edward Snow in the Astrology News Service, the (US) National Science Foundation (NSF) reports that Americans in 2012 are less sceptical of astrology compared to any period since 1983.  The NSF reports the high point (66%) for those claiming astrology was “not at all scientific” was 2004 but by 2012 only 55% of people shared this belief.  Young people in the 18 to 24 years age group show far greater acceptance of astrology with 52% of this group believing astrology was unscientific in 2010 but only 35% shared this view in 2012. In 2010, 64 percent of respondents in…

    Terry MacKinnell
    17 Jun 2013 | 11:54 pm
Some incidents in recent weeks have again highlighted the strength of Scorpio associated events in the world.  Technically the world moved from the Scorpio quasi micro-age decan to the Cancer quasi micro-age decan around July 2012.  Quasi-ages have their uses – but the shift from the Scorpio quasi micro-age decan to the Cancer quasi micro-age decan in 2012 does not mean that Scorpios’ days are over.  To understand the true relationship of the transition from Scorpio to Cancer it is necessary to go back to basic principles. The Cancer micro-age (2000-15) has three micro-age decans:…

Three interesting men born October 29: The Shah of Iran (1919). Carl Djerassi (1923) and A. j. Ayer (1910) For an analytic, logical positivist philosopher A. J. Ayer had an astonishing number of sexual liaisons in addition to his four marriages, even fathering at least one illegitimate, on the Hollywood columnist Sheila Graham. It has been said he was "a slave to his libido" and one colleague described him as 'a great mind ruined by sex". She had her personal near death experience, a traumatic near-drowning at age 12 which left her with aquaphobia. She played a literal femme fatale in the 2007 Sex and Death 101, a character named Death Nell who avenges women who have been sexually mistreated. In 1993 she deeply concerned herself in the kidnapping and death of a little girl named Polly Klaas, compelled to rehearse a Pluto/Persephone narrative.

Halloween approaches. Oct. 27's Scorpio femme fatale must be poet SYLVIA PLATH (born 1932). This is one of her drawings. The night she met her husband-to-be, poet Ted Hughes, she bit his cheek to blood . . . at a party! He wrote "This lightning pass through all the walls of the maze was her real genius. Instant confrontation with the most central, unacceptable things." Fiercely felt female scorpionic imagery, clustering around death, sex, and the Pluto/Persephone story, pours out of Plath as from a wound. In her hair-raising, career-making poem "Daddy”, she cast her dead father as a…

All our stories have the same beginning and the same ending. We are born and we die. A dragonfly may spend five years as a naiad and just a few months as a pond-skimming, silk-shimmering dancer. How does a naiad feel when it loses its husk and finds that, after all, it is a creature that flies? From water to earth to air. For the most part, we live a lot longer than dragonflies, and we may have had wings…

Just after Halloween 2009, the new bride of our neighbor, a lovely man in his late 50s, was killed in a car accident. Our neighbor, who was her passenger, was left hospitalized in critical condition. They had been married less than one year. When we occasionally encountered him on our evening walks, he was so happy about his new marriage, so in love with his wife, that he seemed lit up from the inside. They were still engaged in the happy work of newlyweds – negotiating space in their home, having the place painted, deciding where to put the piano. It was weeks before he regained…

This is because you are not the only force at work…

But nearer the equinoxes in late September and late March, which mark the beginning of autumn and spring, you can fly from one hemisphere to the other and notice little difference.

Samhain Goddess by Arwen Grace Now that we are through the New Moon in Scorpio Lunar Eclipse and have begun the trip into the deepest realms of the subconscious, we have no fewer than five planets and luminaries as well as an asteroid, all lined up today in a Scorpio stellium: Venus, Sun, Pallas, Moon, Saturn and Ceres. The art and magic of astrology originated in the Northern hemisphere and the seasonal implications are less apt for the Southern hemisphere (although astrology still works there!).   For those of us in the top half of the world, The Sun’s entry into Scorpio in late…

Athena by the late Susan Seddon Boulet Although the New Moon tomorrow is an eclipse at the first degree of Scorpio, there is still an intensely Libran influence during this last day leading into the eclipse.  Four planets (including the luminaries, the Sun and the Moon)  are in Libra, and the Sun is aligned with Venus, Libra’s ruler.  Libra and Venus possess a strong but delicate energy – inspiring relationship and harmony, yet requiring a peace and beauty. This sensitivity will have to give way to tougher stuff when the Moon and Sun conjoin at the New Moon in the more…

I faxed a consent letter to The hospital that I was born in so they would look up my birth time on their microfilm and they said that the time of my birth was 2:23 pm in Manhattan, NY on 4/3/81. That would make me a Leo rising. Is it wrong for me to go against the time they gave me? I think I look more like a Cancer, and I think they might have given me the wrong birth time.

The Sun continues its journey through determined Scorpio, while the Moon moves from ambitious Capricorn to Aquarius today. Pursuing career goals could pay off handsomely. It will be time to dream big. We would be wise to apply for jobs that pay well and captivate our interests. Instead of accepting second best, we need to reach for the brass ring. If the kind of work we want is beyond reach, this would be a good time to get some advanced training. Getting a degree or license can put us in line for jobs that are both steady and lucrative. Looking ahead, the compassionate Pisces Moon will make…

November dawns this year with a very positive set of minor aspects in play. On the first day of the month, we find a Mercury-Jupiter sextile, a Venus-Pluto sextile and a Mars-Neptune sextile, all of which lend an energetic and optimistic feel, and a sense of moving in the right direction. Water and earth signs will get further validation of this on November 3rd when the Scorpio Sun sextiles powerful Pluto. With motivation at its highest, this is a good time for taking back personal power and for feeling that your own life is under your own control. The Full Moon in Taurus on November 6th is a…

The conservative Capricorn Moon forms harsh angles to both Mercury and Uranus today. We could be pressured to venture into unfamiliar territory. Breaking comfortable routines may be difficult. Instead of clinging stubbornly to the old ways, we should try to adapt. Negative attitudes won’t sit well with authority figures. Fortunately, the Moon is also making a sextile to determined Saturn. If we put our anxieties aside and focus on long-term goals, we can acquire marketable skills. Forming friendships with older, experienced individuals can be inspiring. Overnight success may be elusive,…

Creativity, I believe, is the key to having descriptions, thoughts or beliefs but not getting trapped by them. A local aura reader quoted her late husband as saying that people are like light bulbs and that every belief is like a sticker put on that bulb. The more stickers you put on that bulb, the less light that shines through. To shine fully, you need to remove the stickers. Astrology has symbolism for this very idea in the planet…

And in the instance that you don’t fully understand the reason, rest assured that it is not so that you continually bang your head against it.
