  • Reflections on the news

    Eric Francis
    6 Nov 2009 | 10:34 am
It’s been an incredibly violent few weeks. Actually I’ve been noticing this all year — lots of detective teams digging various places. In recent weeks we’ve been exposed to many severe crimes, most of them committed against women. Yesterday’s attack at Fort Hood takes things to a new level, and I think is a good reason to stop and think about our values and the direction our country is taking. We say we’re a Christian nation, and we leave people without food and health care so that we can wage wars in remote parts of the world. If you call yourself a…

On the list of previous offerings: alchemy, astrology, kabbalah, philosophy, medieval studies, religions, spirituality, tarot... On the list of new offerings: simplicity, good moments, sharing, delicious, pleasure, relaxation... And what would it feel like to combine the two and have all in the same shop? Photo by Dani Voirin.

Today’s Oracle takes us to the SAGITTARIUS – Weekly of Jan 14, 2000 It looks to me like you are brewing the perfect psychic chemistry to blend your typically conservative financial instincts with just the right amount of luck and daring to turn something unlikely into a sure winner. A big part of the equation will be an insight into how valuable what you’re working with really is, even though its worth may not be readily apparent. Between value that’s real but goes unnoticed and value that becomes fully apparent in its worth usually occurs some kind of creative…

  • Astrology As a Guide to Personal Development

    admin
    5 Nov 2009 | 9:11 pm
Astrology was more advanced as a science in ancient times it is today. Now it is still only, in a sense, being rediscovered. It would therefore be wise to look to ancient traditions as guides to present developments. One feature that stands out most clearly in the ancient writings is the emphasis that was placed on astrology as a guide to personal development, rather than as a mere statement of problems with no suggestion of a solution. Their eyes are storms-at-sea ready to pull you into their undertow and sweep you away. Their reputation of being highly sexual comes with a bill of sale. A wave of energy through Scorpio is likely to bring secrets to light. You will discover them yourself first, then the next step will be to tell others. Make sure you confide in someone who you know cares about you. The kinds of personal revelations that are possible will come from a deep sense of vulnerability. Feeling positive about yourself will require a careful balancing act. A setup involving the Sun, Mercury and a small, meaningful planet called Nessus suggest we need to be careful not to inflict our parents’ judgments onto ourselves. There’s also a reminder not to make small…

Ask the collectiveThe idea here is that you put your desires (Venus / Libra) in concrete form (Saturn). The higher level thought is someone who reads of your wishes may be able to grant them or you may be able to grant theirs. I’ll go first: I would like this blog to go up a page rank. Pat
    6 Nov 2009 | 7:07 am
This week’s question comes from Adina from Montreal, Quebec: How will Saturn’s transit through Libra affect me (personally, professionally), taking into consideration the position of Pluto until 2024, of Neptune and Uranus and Jupiter - the slower moving planets? Neith’s response: Adina, I believe you will find Saturn in Libra much, much easier to live with than when he was in Virgo for many reasons, the most important being Saturn is far more at home in thoughtful, equitable Libra. When Saturn entered Virgo in September 2007, he started right out by conjoining your Jupiter,…

We’re heading into dreamtime now. With the Sun in Scorpio and Neptune at a standstill, preparing to go direct, we’re all more open to psychic phenomena and “downloads” from the universe. I forgot to mention in last week’s forecast that Sunday was the Celtic cross-quarter day of Samhain. In earlier times, Samhain was the beginning of the new year. In the industrialized West, we tend to view night and the dark part of the year as negative and undesirable, but to the nature-centered Celts, light grows out of darkness, so their days began at sunset, not sunrise, and…

The Full Moon in Taurus on November 2 puts the focus back on the fixed signs, if only temporarily, reminding us what’s worth hanging onto and what we need to release as we head into a period with so much change. At 10°30′ Scorpio-Taurus, the Sun and Moon form a tight T-square with Mars in Leo. Using a wide orb, we get fixed grand cross with Jupiter in Aquarius, underscoring the hazards of taking an ideological stance come what may. The Sun in eagle-eyed Scorpio conjoins Mercury, and both are square Scorpio’s co-ruler, Mars. This can translate into potential explosions due to…

And how will it affect the lucky ones with the conjunction in their natal charts? Mine has been sizzling for weeks now, scaring the hell out of me. Neith’s response: Karin, I think what you have been noticing is Saturn moving through the final degrees of Virgo, and once he is firmly established in Libra, you will find the effect less harsh for the next few months. Saturn promises to be easier to live with in fair-minded…

    5 Nov 2009 | 8:32 pm
I recently commented at Stars Over Washington that the Nov. 4 Neptune station of Aquarius so close to the U.S. Moon would produce an event that would bring sorrow to the American populace. I think we’ve seen this with the shootings in Fort Hood, Tex. This tragedy galvanized my family because my nephew left Mosul, Iraq, about two days ago, heading to the center in Fort Hood where the violence occurred. I haven’t been tending my blog quite as well as I should be, but I wanted to put up a quick post about how today’s celebrity deaths of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson are triggering a period of national mourning of sorts, fueled by the Internet and social networking. Depending on what time you use for the U.S. chart, the current Jupiter/Neptune conjunction is either conjunct or quite close to the U.S. Moon, which signifies the people of the nation. Today, the Moon is in Leo, which often coincides with accidents and surprises, and this is opposing the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction…

Just as the Moon moved into Capricorn at 3:59 p.m. Eastern time today, where it’s close to a conjunction with Pluto and a trine with Venus and Mars in Taurus, investors got a bouquet from Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. What’s interesting is that Justice Ginsburg only had until 4 p.m. to make her ruling. I won’t bore you with all the details, but I’m not surprised that Ginsburg ruled to delay the sale of Chrysler to Fiat, a deal that put unsecred creditors ahead of secured creditors. Justice Ginsburg obviously doesn’t take the sanctity of contracts…

  • Erisian Elusiveness, Plutonic Potential

    28 Oct 2009 | 7:38 am
Here is an interesting idea. Eris, Goddess of Discord, so named after being more or less directly responsible for the declassification of Pluto as a genuine planet and his reclassification as a ‘dwarf planet’ – if anyone is going to take Pluto down a notch or two it had to be Eris (the sister of Ares no less) – does not roll in a conventional orbit; she is differently inclined. Which means that for long periods of her very slow perambulation around the Sun, she is far from the traditional ecliptic of the Zodiac; certainly, she makes an appearance in the Zodiac: in the…

    30 Sep 2009 | 3:46 am
In my last post I discussed the problem with Mercury and made a case for something else. I would not wish to posit a specific astrological entity for the other awareness, it no doubt lies at the centre of your nativity, the place you are drawn to if you are prepared to suffer a little or a lot, or repelled by, if you are otherwise. This otherness is entirely Chirotic, in my view. And should we find ourselves in pursuit of this ‘other’ faculty that is not the mind, not the feelings and not the body either, we might well ask, “what is it?”. Well, it is a sense of rightness. It…

Every day I get messages from people who are struggling to understand the world they inhabit. Why does this happen? Why is my life so difficult? They suggest that if they could only understand it, they would see a “way out.” If my years spent counselling people through their struggles has taught me one thing though, it is that the only route out of adversity is to stop thinking. I would write more on this subject if there were much interest in it: so my usual recourse is to implicate these conclusions within the scope of an astrological treatise; it is after all, one and the same…

In Human Design you have three hearts.  What!  You’re finding one heart is a challenge these days and how could you possibly cope with three?  Actually it is one heart, with three aspects – personal, tribal and collective. When the Human Design System was first brought through in 1985, Ra Uru Hu was told (as I understand it) that there was to be so much evolution of the heart chakra between that date and 2027 that it had been necessarily to split it into three separate energy centres. In the chart they are known as the Solar Plexus Centre ~ personal heart ~ emotional energy,…

Also at the Throat is Mars bringing Jupiter’s faith and hope with it.  And by connecting to the G Centre we also get the energy of Pluto mixing in. And Saturn is there as well.  OMG! I’m looking at Saturn in Libra and how it will play out (out to play?) in the Human Design Chart and I wanted to make one quick point. I’ll preface it by saying that November is all about activating the upper echelons of the heart chakra ~ unconditional love, love of self, inclusion, sharing creative self expression, being receptive to our soul direction. This is the G Centre. Saturn is about to square Pluto. Up until 16th December, they will both be in the G Centre. Activating … as I said above. From now until mid-December the precise theme of Saturn in Libra is love of the…

Both rely on a limited but still potentially vast collection of possible content, based on a non-negotiable structure. In music it's notes on a stave; in astrology, it's planets in the zodiac. Both have a kind of mathematics at their core. In music it's

No, I'm not writing a post about predictive astrology, where the future configurations of the planets are studied in order to glean some insight into what the future might hold for a person. The planetary directions I'm talking about here involve two places I know about which have a walk through the countryside along a marked path which has placed, at appropriate intervals, models and information about the planets in the solar system. The first time I encountered this novel walk was in Zurich, when attending a seminar at the Astrological Psychology Institute where Bruno and Louise were…

Actor and presenter Stephen Fry was born on 24th August 1957 in London. Best known in both these roles either side of the Atlantic, Fry is also very popular amongst the Twitterati who follow his thoughts and witty musings. No time of birth is available so his chart is set up for Noon. This makes for some interesting speculation as the overall aspect structure is small, tightly packed and only fills one of the four quadrants of the chart. Which one this would be, had we the correct birth time, it would be interesting to see. Whichever quadrant is emphasised, this will always leave the…

Technically the section is designated for ‘horoscopes’, and most of the questions are actually about Sun-signs, but from time to time a number of more advanced questions about horoscopic astrology pop…

Given its relatively long history and unique status as one of the few serious journals for astrology, the…

The South Node represents what we’ve come into this life with---the gifts, the wounds, the challenges. On the most basic level, the South Node is where we are comfortable because we are familiar with the territory, and with the South Node in Taurus, or with the Moon in Taurus, we know the delights of being comfortable, being sensual and sexual, having a sense of financial and emotional security, and enjoying the things in life that make it worth living. Venus rules Taurus, and this is the part of us that values the ground we stand on, our relationships, beauty, good food and drink, and…

Here’s a good question a reader asked—“Why are you writing about the South Node and the Moon together?” And I replied: I’m doing this because they mutually reinforce each other and tell more of the story of the heart. Yes, they each are different—dare I say “slightly?”—in that the Moon describes your obvious emotional and nurturing style in this life and how you relate to all things “maternal” including your Mother. However, the Moon's Nodes—are the Nodes of the Moon! And the South Node specifically holds the emotional memory of the Soul, so the story goes back further…

Here's Jung's opening: "The years, of which I have spoken to you, when I pursued the inner images, were the most important time of my life. Everything else is to be drived from this. It began at that time, and the later details hardly matter anymore. My entire life consisted in elaborating what had burst forth from the unconscious and flooded me like an enigmatic stream and threatened to break me. That was the stuff…

The evolution of the financial crisis that emerged in 2007, peaked in the autumn of 2008 and began to wind down in 2009 has been accurately predicted based on the SAMVA USA chart. Actually, the predictions pretty much "nailed it." The following timeline of the financial crisis and predictions made demonstrate this in a convincing manner.EMERGENCE OF CRISISOn January 6, 2007, one of the first predictions was made on the basis of the SAMVA USA chart. In it, "financial/market setbacks" were predicted for the Spring of 2007. The sub-prime crisis that erupted in early 2007 is considered the…

The divine planet Jupiter has in 2009 been transiting its sign of debilitation, Capricorn (in the sidereal zodiac). During this time, it is perhaps not surprising to find that the cultural spotlight has been prominently placed on things that are generally not considered divine, rather the opposite, or irreligious things. Irreligion is defined as an absence of religion, indifference to religion, and/or hostility to religion. [1] Of course, in the Kailyuga (iron) age, the tendency is for pervaisive materialism. However, even within this materialistic age, the religious tendency would be…

Yet another mundane prediction based on the Systems' Approach has been realised. Earlier this year, when oil was below $40 it was predicted to rise in 2009. Indeed, the oil price has been rising throughout 2009. Saturn entered Virgo in early September and the oil price is now more than double its price at the beginning of the year, but less than the peak reached in 2008 when Saturn was in Leo. It was also predicted that the oil price would remain below the earlier peak of mid 2008. So far, this prediction has also been fulfilled.Oil hits $82 per barrel as dollar plungesAP - 4:07 pm EDT,…

Many Western astrologers assume modern Western astrology owes its origins to the discovery of astrology by the ancient Babylonians. [1] They also consider that astrology was further developed by the Egyptians of antiquity before reaching its penultimate stage in the Hellenic world. Further, they consider that the 'horoscopic astrology' of the Hellenic world informed astrology in India. At the same time, the evidence suggests 'horary astrology' was originally developed by Indian astrologers. [2] The above conclusions are strictly based on an interpretation of the literary record. One important…

Most people look to either September 21, 1949 or October 1, 1949 when the People's Republic of China (PRC) was officially founded as having given birth to modern China. As an astrological examination of these dates has not provided a convincing match for major significant events in China's modern history, further research into the history of modern China was undertaken. An event has now been identified that may represent the actual birth of modern China. This event is the founding by Mao Zedong and his cadre in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) of the Chinese Soviet Republic (CSR) in Ruijin,…

Birthday is a terrific time to appreciate the development of the past year and look forward to a new cycle of growth. As the Sun returns to its natal position each year, it shines light on our core life intent and makes it easier for us to live from our center (i.e. the place of rest, peace, power and authenticity). Many people consult their astrologers around their birthdays for this very reason.Today is my Solar return, and I wanted to meditate a bit on the core life intent represented by my natal Sun:Sun's Sign & House PlacementMy Scorpio Sun in the 8th house suggests that one of my…

That was a Solar moment, where you were most likely expressing true facets of your being. All of our fears, challenges and personal shortcomings fade away when we are in that special moment.Robert Bly called this Solar experience as "being in the presence of the King." So with that in mind, I decided that we could use some lucky numbers that can be used in any helpful way. I gazed into a pool of water, Nostradamus-like, and contemplated the cosmos. Then I mixed the tarot cards and allowed the spirits to guide me to the cards that represent the lucky numbers for this week. Nothing is guaranteed but who knows ....? We have anniversaries, biennial events, diamond jubilees, centenaries, bi-centenaries and even millenarianism but rarely do celebrations arrive around every 7,000 years!  Between 2015 and 2029 a very special event takes place that has not occurred since 5122 BC.  The world in 5122 BC was a very different place.  The population of the world was about 25 million people in 3000 BC, and so perhaps 10 to 15 million people were alive in 5122 BC – about the size of present day Los Angeles.  Nevertheless great things were stirring in the world as this period marked the first widespread settling…

Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Cancer Sun and Moon are now both in Yin water signs that understand one another very well. After putting our ideas out there under the Gemini Moon, the instinct is now to return to our shells a little bit, protect and nurture our loved ones and tune in to the feelings again. The signs alternate between Yin and Yang, and in that sense represent the wave-like flow of life - we have to reflect and take things in (Yin) before we’re in a position to put out what we’ve discovered (Yang), and then rest and reflect again, etc., in a neverending cycle. There’s also much potential for clever-sounding, witty, but deeply cutting remarks that feel good (Moon) at the time, but will be…

In the meantime, I sent a message to my friend Evelyn Roberts and the subject line read, “Confessions of an Astro Nerd.” What a good title for a blog post, I says to myself. So here are some of mine. Send me some of your and I’ll add them to this post. My Moon is in Scorpio. In its fall. I don’t care. I love my intense Moon. Intensely, of course. My Venus falls in Virgo. I think I’m envious of people with a strong, happy Venus. Okay, I…

Hello my Fellow Traveler, How’s it going for you? Difficult transits? Yeah, me too. ::sigh:: Chiron’s been opposing the ruler of my sixth house: my dog died last month and my cat’s not well. Cat wouldn’t allow me to take him to the vet; and when the good doctor came home, he wouldn’t allow the tired man to do an examination. Now Cat’s hiding in my cupboard (even though that’s forbidden territory) and I’m exhausted. The Chiron opposition is not all that ails me. I believe the current sky’s making a grand cross in my chart: there’s trouble everywhere I turn. And I’m…
  • Venus in Libra :: 15 October, 2009 – 8 November, 2009

    11 Oct 2009 | 1:08 pm
Venus moves into Libra on 15 October, 2009. With the Sun and Mercury already in Libra and Saturn moving in to join the action on 30 October, 2009 there is a growing emphasis on this sign and its energy at this time. But first let’s take a look at how Venus fares when she’s in Libra. Since she’s the natural ruler of Libra, Venus does rather well in this sign and so do people who are born with this placement. Venus, along with Jupiter, is considered a ‘benefic” in astrology. Translated into simple English it means Venus exerts a favorable influence and bestows the gifts of beauty and…

If you want the truth, go to Jeff: he tells it like it is. And in this guest post, he shares the trials and rewards of being an astrologer. I don’t know about you, but I have an image of the ideal professional astrologer, and how she prepares for readings. She prepares a complex graph that includes transits, eclipses, stations, secondary progressions and solar arc directions, noting the “key dates” in which important…

  • Haha, Very Funny… The Mercury Return

    Shannon
    28 Oct 2009 | 11:23 am
Photo by Nate Ritter (cc) I’ve been an irrepressible joke-maker today… after a friend commented on it, I of course joked that I should go read my horoscope. Which I did… like Molly, I keep a subscription to astro.com’s Personal Daily Forecast, since my own things sneak up on me. And lo, my Mercury return arrived late last night! I’ve never thought of it as a particularly witty moment before, but if my brain is turned up to 11 right now, that would be a natural side effect. So what exactly does a Mercury return entail, anyway? Any planet has a return when it comes…

Photo by Peter Rinblad (cc) Over at The Fluent Self, Havi has a weekly ritual that has become known as the Friday Chicken, a little check-in moment that started about a year ago. After years in the kitchen, and because we’re all about the march of time here, the idea of punching a time clock seemed like a good mental image to me. So here we go. The good stuff this week: I’ve been cooking at home more, and I’ve been getting to cook for my friends more too, which is terrific. I love entertaining. Those domestic spreads you see in lifestyle magazines and wedding rags, with the…

Photo by Ross Berteig (cc) I have almost no water in my chart, but I have a Uranus-Lilith-Venus conjunction (along with Juno and Vesta, for you asteroid junkies out there) in my fourth house. The fourth house is, among a few other things, all about your home, how you feel about it, and how you tend to behave there. Uranus in the fourth often brings unusual taste in furnishings, a love of home electronics or gadgetry, and can represent frequent moves in early life. For me? Check, check, and check. I never know how to answer people when they ask me where I’m from; nowadays it just depends…

Photo by Michel Villeneuve (cc) I’ve been studying astrology for almost fifteen years now, and it still amazes me how I can find new things in my chart all the time. There’s definitely a subjective angle to analyzing your own information, because I’ve overlooked or trivialized countless things that would be patently obvious to me in someone else’s chart. My most recent example is a biggie: it never sunk in for me that I have a big fat yod, with my Sun-Jupiter in the 3rd and Neptune in the 5th pointing out that tenth house Chiron. More Neptune work to integrate, it…

World, forgive me if I’m impatient with frivolous crap right now, but if there’s big stuff going on? I’m all ears. I have a special craving for getting at the truth behind the veneer right now so hopefully it will lead to some interesting conversations. I’m in a special kind of “I don’t care what you normally tell people, I can see through that so why don’t you tell me what’s really going…

Fernando Botero, (b. April 19, 1932): Femme habillee par Valentino. Aries painter Botero is not afeard of red, for sure, tho I wouldn't say it plays a special role in his work. But he was attracted by fashion designer Valentino's great romance with the color. Valentino is a Taurus, but the Sun is his sole Taurus planet, while his chart's outstanding element is a powerful triple conjunction in Aries of Mars, Mercury and Uranus (all trine Jupiter), which he shares with Botero, who was born only three weeks before him.

Stellar spectra Color associations to the signs and  planets are not rigidly assigned, and are based on subjective psychological affinities. Some are no-brainers, like red being associated with the planet Mars and the sign Aries (which is “ruled” by Mars)  -- the war god evokes blood, anger (seeing red), the red planet, even the iron (oxide) of weaponry, which is also the source of blood’s color. Then the Moon and its associated sign, Cancer the Crab, suggests silver or white, also the moonlike pearl and nacre, esthetic essence of the crustacean. Some signs have…
  • Freud: Taurus or Pisces?

    Mark Shulgasser
    16 Oct 2009 | 9:57 pm
For some time I’ve been pursuing the idea that Freud’s correct birthday was March 6, not May 6. The almost universally accepted May 6, 1856 date (6:30 pm, Freiberg, Moravia, now Pribor, Czech Republic) appears authoritatively in the first sentence of Freud’s official biography, written by his close associate and disciple, Ernest Jones. Yet that very sentence bears a footnote (deleted from the abridged edition) joking that the actual birth may have taken place two months earlier, seven months after the wedding of Freud’s parents. Freud wrote a book called Jokes and…

    10 Oct 2009 | 1:24 pm
After long absence, and to dispel the heavy atmosphere I’ve breathed, something a little silly perhaps, arbitrary and unchronological, entirely consequent on the vagaries of TCM programming. This goes back to Gemini, the Hands, and the Taurus cusp. Remember the beloved, underutilized Robert Montgomery? Born exactly on the cusp of Taurus and Gemini (Sun was at 29d30’ Taurus at noon on his time-unknown birthday), this is arguably his best film. On the poster his dense, puzzled face contemplates his murderous digits, detached, vaguely disturbed,  with a glimmer of dawning…

    29 Sep 2009 | 3:30 pm
DONALD EVANS (b. 28 August 1945, Morristown NJ, 6:40 am) was another artist born under Virgo whose work is organized by the Grid. The postage stamp and its perforated sheets provided the rectilinear, regulated containment for Evans’s fantasy. He created the postal art for scores of imaginary nations;  peculiarly distinctive, whimsical, exotic or banal, as philatelic images tend to be, executed with microscopic precision and tongue in cheek.  Virgonian imagery predominates: catalogues of flora and fauna, natural landscapes, textiles, crafts, alphanumerics, and daily minutiae.

  • Everything Must Change: Week Of November 2

    1 Nov 2009 | 6:09 pm
Welcome to a tense week on Planet Earth. It begins with a potent Full Moon in Taurus. Full Moons can set your teeth on edge to begin with, but this moon has the added weight of being a bit of a monster. Kind of appropriate on the heels of Halloween, dontcha think? This Full Moon sets up a planetary configuration known as a fixed grand square. Sun and Moon are opposite each other in the skies (which results in a full moon), and are at square angles with Mars and Jupiter, also opposing each other. The tension created by a Grand Cross is pretty strong and will challenge each of us as demands come…
  • Mantra for Week of October 5

    4 Oct 2009 | 5:33 am
This week Neptune retrograde (spiritual awareness) is the release point of a destiny-like configuration known as a yod (or Finger of God). Mercury in Virgo (the pen) and Mars in Cancer (the sword) are part of the configuration, resulting in a drive to mental and physical battle for the underdog. The mantra for this week’s energy:“I will not cease from mental fight, nor shall my sword sleep in my hand ‘til we have built Jerusalem on England’s green and pleasant land.”(William Blake, "And did those feet in ancient time")Namaste.Michelle Piller, Starstruck Astrology

Are you a student of astrology? If so, you’ll know that one of the more challenging aspects of astrology lies in understanding how the planets relate to each other. When planets are in dialogue with each other (or forming specific angles) they are said to be in aspect together. As with human conversations, some planetary dialogues are smooth, others less so. At any rate, I’ve just read a new book by astrologer Matthew Currie entitled Conquer The Universe With Astrology Book One: Aspects! In keeping with Matthew’s style, this is a really witty and easy to comprehend explanation of the…
  • Solstice and New Moon in Cancer

    21 Jun 2009 | 1:20 pm
Happy Solstice! The Sun has just moved into Cancer, resulting in the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. A classic song from Hair keeps repeating its emphatic chorus in my mind: “Let the Sunshine in!” Of course, Hair is an unapologetic romp through some of the ideals of the coming Aquarian Age. And it plays on my mind in resonance with the cluster of divine energy from Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune (each retrograde) in Aquarius. This heavenly trio trines the Sun and Moon, bringing a sense of renewal. Venus and Mars, the cosmic lovers, are paired in Venus’ luxurious home…

Observation was one of the key lessons one learns when trying to compete in the world of fashion or fashion illustration, as understanding the trends gives one a head start to success.  The ability to observe also seems to me comes in very handy when one wants to write books or articles, as the need to understand human nature and to be able to describe it in an interesting manner to the reader is of prime importance.  Thinking about it in further details I realized observation in any occupation is of vital importance if one is to be successful.  The problem to me is that observation is not…

Being Asian I have a tremendous respect for my elders and their wisdom, especially the ancient wise men of old who recorded their knowledge that we may have use of it.  I also find it difficult to throw out the old ways just because they seem antiquated in our modern world.  Although I am a modern astrologer I love reading the older writings to understand how we came to the set of rules that we delineate a chart with.  What I have found with our art is that we have kept all the rules, but have forgotten the reasons how we came to them.  The other day I started to reread “Ancient…

Some may think I am concentrating on the second house because of the financial downturn we are experiencing, but it is one of the reasons and not the only one.  I feel that the ascendant expresses what we want others to see us, as individuals, but that the second house expresses who we really are.  For what we process in the material world is the reason why we surround ourselves with these things.  Our need with Pluto in the second should not be to impress others with our worldly riches, but to surround ourselves with the things we love, to reinforce who we really are.  Pluto in the Solar…

On November 2nd 2009, a full moon at 11 degrees of Taurus beams its moonlight on the earth to brighten our path in the darkness of night.  The brightness of the full moon is a metaphor to our wishes and desires we planted in the New Moon period, and is growing clearer and brighter each day without any hidden agendas until it becomes full.  The materialization of our wishes and hopes which reflects us and our needs is similar to the full moon which reflects the energy and thoughts of the Sun.  With the full moon in Taurus the need to have or possess, to receive, to preserve, and to enjoy is…
